Coaching Foundations

A FOUNDATION COACH TRAINING PROGRAMME FOR PROFESSIONALS WHO WANT TO HAVE BETTER-QUALITY CONVERSATIONS, BUILD TRUST AND MAKE COACHING A NATURAL PART OF THEIR PROFESSIONAL ROLE.

Coaching as Part of Professional Practice

Coaching Foundations is designed for people whose work involves developing others and who want to build on a strong foundation in coaching. It is suitable for professionals who want to communicate more effectively, lead developmental conversations, support others in taking greater ownership and responsibility, and build healthier working relationships.

The programme is currently being prepared for ICF Level 1 accreditation, with the process expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2027.

The programme goes beyond developing the ability to conduct a foundational coaching conversation. It also helps participants integrate a coaching approach naturally into their everyday professional practice—when leading people, collaborating with others, conducting developmental conversations, giving feedback and supporting people through change.

The programme is designed for those who want to conduct conversations with greater confidence and professionalism, strengthen their communication and relational skills, support others in taking greater ownership and responsibility, build greater trust in working relationships, and use a coaching approach alongside their primary professional role.

The programme is particularly suitable for:

  • leaders and managers
  • internal coaches
  • HR professionals
  • trainers and mentors
  • professionals in the helping professions
  • anyone whose work involves developmental, supportive or change-focused conversations.

How is the programme structured?

The programme consists of three two-day modules and two one-day modules. Each part builds on the previous one, creating a natural developmental progression—from understanding the foundations of coaching and developing communication skills, through building relationships and conducting developmental conversations, to integrating a coaching approach into participants’ own professional practice.

Learning activities between modules support the ongoing application of learning to real situations from participants’ working lives. The programme also includes 10 hours of mentor coaching focused on developing coaching skills, together with ongoing work using recordings of participants’ own coaching conversations.

By the end of the programme, participants will be able to conduct a foundational coaching conversation and consciously apply coaching elements in everyday professional situations.

Participants will gain:

  • a strong foundation in the coaching approach
  • greater confidence in conducting developmental conversations
  • stronger listening and questioning skills
  • greater sensitivity to relationships, safety and boundaries
  • practical tools applicable in professional practice
  • experience of mentor coaching and professional feedback
  • deeper awareness of their own way of working with people.

In 2027, we plan to offer an online, English-language version of the programme. Dates and programme fees will be announced soon.
